About Me

I received a Cricut for Valentine's day 2008. I had done scrapbooking when my daughter was younger, but hadn't done any paper crafting since then. I really got into it again when I got my Cricut!! I discovered card making and have been hooked ever since!! I enjoy almost all crafts and have done tole painting, crocheting, cross stitch and other crafty things. I have a daughter who is a freshman in college and two furbabies. I adore animals of all kinds and I love the outdoors and gardening.

Twick or Tweet

recently received a little mini holiday catalogue from Stampin Up and they had this cute little bird with a mask on holding a trick or treat pumpkin in his beak. So anyway that got me going. I designed the birds' body by combining shapes from GBS and DC. Her little tuft of feathers on her head is a cut from HA. The legs and pumpkin were cut with GBS. The mask is from PDDU. Sentiment is computer generated and when I showed the card to my mom she said, " twack or tweet", it is just one of those fonts where the i is so ornate it almost looks like and a so that is whyI put the little black crytsal above it. I kinda struggled with the legs. They look skinny, but fat ones didn't look good. I started looking online at other birds and decided from what I saw that he didn't need to be proportionately correct and that that is just part of the whimsy you see so much of now in little birdies. Punch on the side is MS. Background behind bird is CB.Card is approximately 5 x 7. TFL!!!!!

Puppy Loves Fall

Cartridges used on this card were Paper Pups, Doodle charms for the basket, Stretch Your Imagination for the tree and Zoo Balloo for the Grass. The leaves were done with punch.

Candy Corn Kisses and Halloween Wishes

Anothe Halloween Card using Doodle Charms for the Candy Corn. I cut them in 3 different layers so that I could emboss them all differently. I used Co'rdinations card stock and then sanded it. I love this stuff!! The Candy Corn is part of a cut that includes other pieces of candy, but I didn't want them to cut so I used the "Hide Contour" button in Design Studio. I am so happy they came up with that feature and I use it all the time!!!

Trick or Treaters at your door!

5 x 7 Halloween card using PDDU and EDPD for the alien. I used DC to cut out the pumpkin and the bag the monster is holding.

Zany Pumpkins

I love these psycho pumkins I found on Scrapnfonts website!!! They were cut using my cricut and SCAL software. The doodle bat is part of a package called "Lil Pumpkins". The font on the little tag is LD Little Piggy also from Scrapnfonts. The pumpkin on tag is another image from the Lil Pumkin collection that I colored in with Copic Markers.

"Frankly"

I designed this friendly Frankenstein using Design Studio. The bat is from Paper Doll Dress UP. The sentiment is computer generated. His hair and shirt are embossed with Cuttle Bug embossing folders.

Dream

I had fun making this card. It is kinda of a different style for me. The bird is cut with Home Decor Cartridge, the Dream is from Home Accents and the flower is from Mini Monograms and I positioned a round shape over the flower in Design Studio so it would cut that part out. Dream was cut once on black paper and then I used my deepcut blade to cut out another layer on chipboard. I cut a piece of felt using the flower as a pattern and positioned under the paper flower and stitched it down. I like the raised look that I got with this, but it didn't allow the letters to lay completely flat so the "a" and the "m" look a little bigger than the other letters, but it is just an illusion. After finishing the card I was looking at it and thought that the rub-on flourish on the lower left hand side of the card was maybe in a bit of a comical area if you know what I mean!! Didn't plan it that way!! Ooops

Girls camp picture cubes

Some 4" wooden cubes that I embellished with paper, flowers, rub-ons and other things. I am what they call a "Nestie" for a church girls camp and I made a cube for each girl in my group. They have a picture of Christ, someone that the girl loves (family member(s)) and a scripture about love on them. I also cut each girl's initials using my cricut. Most of the fonts for the letters were cut with the SCAL softwear. I also used my cuttlebug to emboss some the the paper. I sanded and spray painted each block with black paint before I embellished them. When I was done I covered them with Modge Podge.

Scripture

Here was the scripture for that day. I used rub-ons and rhinestones to accent the scripture. It was printed out on Kraft paper and I inked the edges.

And another view

The blocks all had pictures of Christ to remind the girls of his infinite love for them.

Another view

The "LOVE" was cut with cricut using the Home Decor cartridge. I used my deep cut blade and cut it out of chipboard. The butterfly on the heart is a rub-on. It wasn't as vibrant as I was hoping for on the black.

Initial on Block

An example of the initials that I did. This one is accented with stitching, pearls and a little butterfly brad.

Additional picture of blocks

"Love" is from home accents cricut cartridge and the dragonfly is from home decor. Cuttlebug to emboss and then sanded. Decorative scissors for the edgeing.

More girls camp stuff

One of the days at camp the theme will center around faith. I made each of the girls (8) a bookmark with the word faith on it. I tied them to a bottle of powerade to remind them that they have the power to show faith in their lives. I cut the faith out using my cricut and the Home Accents cart. I embellished them with different things like flowers, pearls, ribbon ect.. I covered them with Modge Podge to make them durable.

Easter's on it's Way!

The Cricut cart. "New Arrival" has been around for some time now, but I just barely got this one. I really didn't think that the first thing I would make using it would be an Easter card! I was playing around with Cricut Design Studio one night and came up with the combination of the rabbit from Stretch Your Imagination "sitting" in the truck from NA. Of course I only used the top half of the rabbit. It is suppose to look like he is driving the truck! The bunny was cut from cream colored carstock and I used brown ink and chalk to make him a little brown bunny. I also used chalks for the inside of his ears and cheeks. His nose is just a dab of liquid pearls. Face is doodled. The eggs are cut from Doodle Charms and the little bird is from Stretch Your Imagination. The grass and truck were embossed with Cuttlebug. I added stickles to the centers of the embossed flowers on the truck. Patterned Paper is from Making Memories flower patch collection. I used Martha Stewart punches for the decorative edging and the branch punch for the "grass" in the truck. Machine stitching and lots of inking!

Sweet New King of the Jungle

I made this card for a friend of mine who is having a baby. She was going to be induced today and it is her first so I'm hoping she is doing okay. The card size is 7 x 5. Patterned paper is from Kaiser. Lion is from Cricut cartridge Zooballo and little crown is from Paper Pups. Tag is from Plantain Schoolbook and sentiment is computer generated. Embossing done with Cuttlebug. Lots of inking and stitching. Jewels on crown are raindots ( of course).

Busy with the garden.

We have been busy in our garden this year. After attending a lawn and garden show my husband and I decided that we really needed to do raised beds in our garden. My husband built these wonderful garden boxes. I helped a little! We are filling them with mulch and compost. I am so excited as we already have baby peas and radishes!!

Spring is here!!

Couldn't resist taking a snapshot of some beautiful Hyacinths growing in my front yard. Too bad I can't capture their wonderful fragrence too!

"Bear Hugs to You"

I found this cute bear on ScrapnFonts. He is from the DB Animal Occasion dingbat collection. I cut him using my SCAL program and Cricut machine. The black accent corners were cut from Plantain Schoolbook and the bees were designed in Cricut Design Studio using George and Basic shapes and the Walk in My Garden carts. I used rain dots (love these!!) for the bears eyes and nose. Green patterned paper is from October Afternoon and the orange pp is from Making Memories the Chloe's Closet collection. Flower is prima. Orange and yellow brads and I dotted a black dot with paint on the yellow flower brads. Bees have stickles on their cheeks and wings. Rick rack, machine stitching, doodling and inking! Sentiment is computer generated and is Santa's Sleigh font from ScrapnFonts.

"Hugs Make Life Bearable"

I am sick of winter by now, but I wanted to sneak in this one last "winter-ish" card before spring is officially here! This card is for my daughter and she is an animal nut just like me so she will love it. The cute stamp is from Whipper Snapper Stamps. The sentiment is also Whipper Snapper. I colored in the image using my Prismas and odorless mineral spirits. There are some glitter stickles accents on the snow, but you can't really tell from the picture. I cut the tag out using my Nestabilities and then added some rain dots. Ribbon, machine stitching and buttons
for embellishments.

Birthday Turtle

I had been seeing so many wonderful shape cards on the Cricut Message Board that I wanted to do one too! I used the turtle cut from the Walk in My Garden cart and welded two shadow cuts in Design Studio. Her hat is from the Celebrations cart. She has rain dots for "toes" and the trim on the bottom of her shell is a Martha Stewart punch. Belated birthday day tag is computer generated and I used Nestabilites to cut it out. Party hat is Cuttle Bugged with swiss dots and then sanded. I tied a ribbon underneath her chin and added a flower. Rhinestones and pom-pom added for some bling. Lots of doodling and inking! I made this card for another wonderful Sister-In-Law!!

"Treat Heart for My Sweetheart"

The candy store and bear on this card were cut from the "My Community" Cricut cartridge. The picket fence is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the heart from George. I somewhat altered the bear by giving her some paws and muzzle. I also added windows and a door to the store. The cobblestone road was made by running paper through my Cuttle Bug and then sanding it. "Sweet" was cut using SCAL. Candy store sign and sentiment are computer generated. Heart on store is a rain dot.

"Your Always There"

I made this card for my wonderful Sister and Brother-In-Law. They live close to my daughter who is far away from home going to college. They do so much for her!!! I used the Cricut Cartridges Paper Pups and Mini Monograms for the scalloped grass. Fiskar decorative scissors for the scalloped edging on the card. I added pink pearls and rhinestones. "Your always there" is computer generated and the "with love" and "just for you" are stamps. Rain dots used for the dog's nose and eyes. Inking and Doodling.

I have been seeing so many cute owls everywhere that I wanted to use one on a card! I designed this little guy on the Cricut Design Studio. I used mostly George and Basic Shapes although I know I used a couple of other carts including Zooballoo and Walk in My Garden. The branch is from Zooballoo. I added some machine stitching to the owl's body and the card. His eyes are rain dots that I put a dot of white paint on. Lots of inking. Sentiment is computer generated. Doodlebug rhinestones added to flower centers.

"Polar Pals"

My daughter and I made this card together although she did most the work. She was home for Christmas break and had a gift for her friend she had made in high school. The gift was polar bear themed and she wanted a card to go with it. I was so glad that I had just gotten the cart!!! I had so much fun watching her make it! Polar bears are from the cart, "Joys of the Season", and "friends" comes from the Walk in My Garden cart. The bears, the snow and the scarves were all put throught the xyron and Doodlebug glitter then applied to the scarves and Martha Stewart glitter applied to the snow. My daughter enjoyed putting flock on the polar bears and they turned out nice and "fuzzy". We put pop dots on them and then put them on the page. Rhinestones were added to some of the snowflakes and used raindots for the polar bears eyes.

"Not a Creature Was Stirring"

This little girl mouse was designed on the Cricut Design Studio. I used various cartridges inluding George and Basic Shapes, Walk in my Garden and Celebrations. The stocking came from Doodle Charms. I got the idea for this mouse from a pattern I saw online for an applique dish towel. I used chalks and ink to accent the mouse and her wiskers were made with craft wire. The lace on her jammies is a Martha Stewart punch. I used fiskar decorative trim scissors and the black decorative corners were cut with SCAL. The sentiment is computer generated. The font is called Santa's Sleigh and is from ScrapnFonts!

"Dancing for Joy"

These cute little penguins were cut from the Zoo Balloo Cricut cartridge. I welded a little triangle shape onto them to give the a little "widows" peak. I also added some "feet" that I cut from Walk In My Garden. Top hat and scarf were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up. Ear Muffs cut from WIMG too. Snowflakes and "Joy" were cut using the Joys Of the Season Cart. I used rain dots for the eyes and added glitter to the top hat. I also Cuttle -Bugged the penguins bodies.

Shnauzer Birthday

I made this card for my daughter for her birthday. The little schnauzer is a stamp from Whipper Snapper Stamps that she bought for me because we have and love two little mini schnauzers. I colored him using prismas and cut out and layered another balloon to give it some dimension. The heart also has stickles on it as does the dog's collar. Pink background is embossed with Cuttle Bug and more stickles added. Brads and rhinestones for added accent.

Monogram Card

For this card I used the Mini Monograms cart to cut the scalloped circles. The "B" was cut from the Teardrop cart. I ran it through my xyron and applied Doodle Bug glitter. Pink accents on scallop are stickles. Ribbon is from Michaels and rhinestones added for bling. Added machine stitching, buttons and Accent corner is cut using SCAL.

"BOO"

Frame with Boo welded was designed with SCAL. Zig zag punch at bottom of card is from Martha Stewart and green background is embossed with Cuttlebug and inked. "Too Cute to Spook"

This is another card that I designed on DS using multiple Cricut cartridges. The cats head is on the Doodle Charms cartridge and the witch hat is from Paper Doll Dressup. Green background is embossed with Cuttlebug. Lots of inking and doodleing. Machine Stitching and sentiment is computer generated.

Happy Fall

I don't know who makes this cute scarecrow stamp. I did this card as part of a MCPT (magic coloring pencil technique) challenge held on the Cricut Message Board. I used my prismas and odorless mineral spirits to color in the stamp. Crows beak and and pumkins are highlighted with crystal effects to give them a little bit of shine. Flowers are Prima

Fall Time Friends

This card was created almost entirely on the Cricut Design Studio by welding miscellaneous shapes together. Because I created the card some time ago I do not remember all the different carts that I used. The green background and the hat were embossed using Cuttle Bug. Lots of inking and doodleing. Sunflowers were cut using Walk In My Garden.

Inside of Card.

The Sunflower and leaves are from the Walk In My Garden cart. Heart is from Plantain School Book. I and U were cut using SCAL. I used inking and doodleing to accent. White dots on Sunflower were made by dipping bottom of paint brush is Making Memories paint and applying to paper.

"Spook-Tacular"

This card was part of challenge I took part in over at the Cricut Messageboard. The stamp is from House of Mouse and I colored it in using prismas and odoreless mineral spirits. I used my crop-o-dile to add the eyelets and the grren background is embossed with Cuttlebug and sanded. White doodle dots are made using signo uniball white pen. I love this pen!

"Hello"

My daughter really wanted a camel card so this is what I came up with. Camel is cut from the Animal Kingdom cart and Palm tree is from Doodle Charms. I hand cut the grass and designed the Hello on SCAL. "Sand" is embossed using the Cuttlebug and divine swirls folder. I ran the Hello through the xyron and then added Doodle Bug brown glitter. I used inking to detail the camel and sand. I also sponged some "clouds" with white ink. To finish it off I used to stickles for glitter.

Inside of Hippo Birthday card.

I think the ballon and party hat came from the celebrations cart, but I am not sure. I was using some one elses carts.
